The Government announced today (September 21) the closure of part of the carriageway and footpath of Woh Chai Street to facilitate improvement works at the Mass Transit Railway (MTR) Shek Kip Mei Station.
A portion of the carriageway and footpath on Woh Chai Street near its junction with Wai Chi Street will be temporarily closed and altered for a period of 13 months from November 1, 2012, for the construction of a new MTR external lift.
During the construction period, pedestrians will be diverted and a minimum 1.5 metres-wide footpath will be provided.
A notice on the road closure was published in the Government Gazette today.
A plan showing the affected area is available for public inspection at the Public Enquiry Service Centre, Sham Shui Po District Office, G/F, Cheung Sha Wan Government Offices, 303 Cheung Sha Wan Road, Sham Shui Po; and at the District Lands Office (Kowloon West), 10/F, Yau Ma Tei Carpark Building, 250 Shanghai Street, Yau Ma Tei.
Any person who wishes to make a claim for compensation should write to the Director of Lands, 20/F, North Point Government Offices, 333 Java Road, North Point.
