Employer fined for violation of safety rule

Land Power International Property Management Limited was fined $15,000 at Eastern Magistrates' Courts today (September 7) for violation of the Occupational Safety and Health Ordinance. The prosecution was launched by the Labour Department.
The case involved a fatal accident that occurred on February 10 this year in Central, in which a caretaker, while climbing out of a lift in which he had become stuck, fell to the bottom of the lift shaft and died.
