The Chief Executive has appointed Mrs Margaret Leung Ko May-yee as a member of the Independent Commission on Remuneration for Members of the Executive Council and the Legislature, and Officials under the Political Appointment System of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (Independent Commission). Her term of appointment will end on March 31, 2014, a Government spokesman announced today (August 17).
"We would like to thank Mr Chow Chung-kong, who has resigned from the Independent Commission upon his appointment as a member of the Executive Council, for his invaluable contribution to the work of the Independent Commission over the years," the spokesman said.
The Independent Commission advises the Government on matters relating to the systems of remuneration for Members of the Executive Council and the Legislative Council, as well as for officials under the Political Appointment System.
