Operators of employment agencies are reminded to conduct their business in compliance with the laws in Hong Kong, or else they will face prosecution and their licences may be revoked.
"A recent case shows the consequence of non-compliance with the law. The employment agency licence of BFF Employment Services And Trading Company was revoked by the Labour Department after the licensee was convicted of aiding and abetting the breach of condition of stay, conspiracy to defraud and conspiracy to make false representation to an Immigration Officer," a spokesman for the Labour Department said today (June 23).
For inquiries or complaints against unlicensed operations or overcharging of commissions by employment agencies, please call the Employment Agencies Administration of the Labour Department at 2852 3535 or visit its office at 12/F, Harbour Building, 38 Pier Road, Central, Hong Kong.
