The Buildings Department approved 13 building plans in April, with three on Hong Kong Island, two in Kowloon and eight in the New Territories.
Of the approved plans, three were for apartment and apartment/commercial developments, four were for commercial developments, and six were for community services developments.
In the same month, consent was given for work to start on 14 building projects that, when completed, will provide 147,714 square metres of gross floor area for domestic use, involving 2,149 units, and 66,815 square metres of gross floor area for non-domestic use. The department has received notification of commencement of work for nine building projects.
The department also issued 14 occupation permits, with seven on Hong Kong Island, two in Kowloon and five in the New Territories.
Of the buildings certified for occupation, the gross floor area for domestic use was 137,808 square metres, involving 1,444 units, and 112,862 square metres for non-domestic use.
The declared cost of new buildings completed in April totalled about $1,700 billion.
In addition, 17 demolition consents involving 23 building structures were issued.
The department received 3,318 reports about unauthorised building works in April, and issued 376 removal orders on unauthorised works.
