The Labour Department will hold a two-day job fair at Tung Chung Community Hall on May 30 and 31.
A total of 54 organisations will participate in the job fair. They mainly come from the retail, catering, property management and aviation logistics services industries, offering a total of over 4,800 vacancies. Twenty-seven organisations will set up counters and conduct on-the-spot recruitment on each day.
The vacancies offered cover a wide variety of positions such as baggage handler, ramp services agent, customer services assistant, branch supervisor, waiter or waitress, cook, kitchen assistant, shop assistant, cashier, warehouse assistant, security guard and cleaner. Job seekers who want to know more about the vacancies may visit the department's Interactive Employment Service website (www.jobs.gov.hk).
About 75 per cent of the vacancies are full-time jobs. The majority of the vacancies offer monthly salaries ranging from $6,000 to $11,000. About 98 per cent of these vacancies require a Secondary Six education level or below. Around 75 per cent are open to job seekers without relevant experience.
Job seekers can submit applications on the spot and may be selected for on-site interviews. The Labour Department will also conduct on-the-spot registration for job seekers.
The job fair will be held from 11.30am to 6pm at Tung Chung Community Hall, G/F, Tung Chung Municipal Services Building, 39 Man Tung Road, Tung Chung (MTR Tung Chung Station Exit C, next to North Citygate). Admission is free.
