Following is the transcript of remarks by the Chief Executive-elect, Mr C Y Leung, at a media session in Beijing tonight (April 11):
Reporter: ... for deciding the line-up of the next term, and did you touch on the issue of Mainland women giving birth in Hong Kong?
Chief Executive-elect: No, we didn't discuss the question of Mainland women giving birth in Hong Kong. That is one of the issues that I am going to take up in my future meetings with the Central authorities.
On the question of the selection of candidates for appointment as Principal Officials to the Central Government for the Central Government's appointment, we discussed in principle the general attributes of such candidates for appointment purposes but we didn't actually discuss the candidates themselves.
(Please also refer to the Chinese portion of the transcript.)
