Chung King-fai and Louise Lee to perform in fourth run of "On Golden Pond"
**********************************************************

The renowned local repertory theatre production "On Golden Pond" is going to be staged for its fourth run in April as part of the Hong Kong City Hall 50th anniversary programme. The drama work tells of affection and love and echoes life, with both laughter and tears on the stage.

"On Golden Pond" had six nominations in the 12th Hong Kong Drama Awards and won Best Leading Actor and Actress (Comedy/Farce). The last three runs in Hong Kong were performed nine years ago, and the production has also been staged in Macau, Yunnan and Kobe, Japan. Returning to Hong Kong, the production is being produced by the Hong Kong Federation of Drama Societies. Chung King-fai, Fung Wai-hang, Ko Tin-lung and, in a special appearance, Louise Lee will be among the actors interacting on the stage to show how three generations can together mend estranged relationships and create fantastic reactions in the process.

"On Golden Pond" follows a retired professor, almost 80 years old and with an ironic sense of humour. The old man has a perfect lifelong partner who is 10 years his younger and has cheerful characteristics. Their middle-aged and divorced daughter, who is somewhat estranged from her father, visits them at a lake called Golden Pond with her dentist boyfriend and her son in the summer. Although the boy and the professor can hardly get along at first, eventually they come to enjoy each other's company as grandfather and grandson. The rift between the father and the daughter also begins to close.

When summer is over, the daughter goes home with her boyfriend and her son. When life seems to have returned to normal, the professor suffers a heart attack. The sense of imminent death is never more real, but this also makes the couple more aware of how much they love each other. Time may be running out, but they have had a wonderful life together.
