The following is issued on behalf of the Legislative Council Secretariat:
The Legislative Council (LegCo) Complex's first Open Day will be held next Saturday (February 11) and Sunday (February 12). Members of the public can learn more about the work of the LegCo by joining guided tours, games booths and exhibitions to be organised on the Open Day. Those interested in joining the guided tours on the Open Day can obtain the free tickets tomorrow (February 4).
The two-day Open Day will be held from 10am to 6pm. Guided tours will be held about once every five minutes and each tour will last for about 75 minutes. Members of the public can obtain free tickets either in person at the LegCo Complex or register online. Details are as follows:
(a) queue up outside Public Entrance 1 of the LegCo Complex from 9am to 2pm tomorrow; or
(b) make online registration at the Open Day webpage of the LegCo website (www.legco.gov.hk/english/open_day/default.html) from 9am onwards tomorrow by filling in the name, telephone number, email address and the starting time of visit etc, and present a copy of the confirmation email for redeeming tickets on the Open Day.
Each person may obtain a maximum of four tickets, and tickets are available on a first-come-first-served basis.
By joining the tours, members of the public can visit the conference and educational facilities in the LegCo Complex, including the Chamber, conference rooms, Viewing Gallery, Memory Lane and Education Gallery. In addition, games booths as well as a photo corner will be set up for individual LegCo Members to meet the public and take photos with them. Visitors can also enjoy various performances including marching band and choir etc. Moreover, a souvenir booth will be set up to provide a selection of souvenirs.
