Renowned sand painting artist Hoi Chiu will lead local arts group All Theatre Art Association in performing the multi-arts production "Fool Lala".
A combination of sand painting, puppets, dance and music, "Fool Lala" is an innovative multimedia masterwork with cinematic overtones. With the aid of clowns, puppets and masks, the production is inspired by Zen concepts of how we struggle through life, running from ourselves, unaware that peace is ultimately found within.
The "Fool Lala" creative team includes Hoi Chiu (original concept, director and sand painting), Maggie Blue O'Hara (original text) and zROck (music director), supported by a strong production team. A talented cast includes Maggie Blue O'Hara, Alice H Beaver, Michelle Rocha, Hoi Chiu, Mao, Eva Leung and Tang Chi-yung.
The All Theatre Art Association is an international multimedia production company founded in 2004 by Hoi Chiu and Maggie Blue O'Hara. It creates original shows and has toured many international arts festivals, including appearances in the Mainland, Macao, Taiwan, the United Kingdom, Singapore, Thailand, Korea and Canada.
Presented by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department, "Fool Lala" will be performed in English (with occasional Cantonese) at 8pm from February 23 to 25 (Thursday to Saturday) and at 4pm from February 25 to 26 (Saturday to Sunday) at the Black Box Theatre, Jockey Club Creative Arts Centre.
