Fatal traffic accident in North Point

    Police today (January 1) appealed for information about a traffic accident in North Point this morning in which a 20-year-old man was killed.

    About 5.55am, a private car driven by a 49-year-old man was travelling along westbound KingĄ¯s Road. When approaching near No. 260 KingĄ¯s Road, it reportedly knocked down the 20-year-old man who was crossing the road.

    Sustaining serious head injuries, the man was sent to Ruttonjee Hospital and was later certified dead at 7.26am.

    The driver was arrested for dangerous driving causing death and is still being detained for enquiries.

    Investigations by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, Hong Kong Island are under way.

    Anyone who might have witnessed the accident or who has any information is urged to contact the investigating officers on 3661 1620 or 3106 8800.
