Whether you like pottery or drawings brought to life by talented artists or hope to find eye-catching accessories, you are invited to visit the Arts Corner, which will open in Hong Kong Park from Sunday (January 1), offering the chance to appreciate and purchase artistic works in a relaxing environment.
Organised by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department, the Arts Corner has been a popular event for years, with stalls showcasing and selling a wide array of handicrafts and artworks, including pottery, carvings and accessories. Arts or culture-related services ranging from calligraphy and painting to silhouette-cutting are also available, offering park-goers an artistic break from bustling city life.
A wide variety of goods on offer at the stalls cater for different interests and tastes. Some appeal to those who fancy originality while others will interest visitors nostalgic for traditional Chinese flavours. For those who like to dress up, there are many glamorous accessories for them to pick and choose.
Beginning on January 1, the Art Corner's ten stalls in Hong Kong Park will be open from noon to 6pm on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays throughout 2012 in the outdoor area near the Flagstaff House Museum of Teaware.
Members of the public can also visit for free the 30 stalls being operated at the Loggia of Kowloon Park from 1pm to 7pm on Sundays and public holidays until May 27 next year.
