Assistance provided to Hong Kong victims in traffic accident in Luohu, Shenzhen

     Regarding a traffic accident in which three Hong Kong residents died in Luohu, Shenzhen today (December 27), a spokesman for the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office in Guangdong (GDETO) of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) Government said two immigration officers from GDETO had arrived in Luohu, Shenzhen to offer practical assistance to the concerned family members.

     Upon learning of the incident, the Immigration Division of GDETO immediately contacted relevant Shenzhen authorities and the family members of the concerned Hong Kong residents.

     Initial information indicated that three Hong Kong residents, two men and one woman, died in the accident.

     GDETO will continue to follow up the incident and maintain contact with the family members of the concerned Hong Kong residents to render practical assistance.

     Residents outside Hong Kong who need assistance may call the 24-hour hotline (852)1868 of the Assistance to Hong Kong Residents Unit of the Immigration Department.
