Fatal traffic accident in Kwai Chung

    Police today (December 24) appealed for information about a traffic accident in Kwai Chung this morning in which a 51-year-old man was killed.

    About 6.55am, a rubbish truck driven by a 61-year-old man was travelling along Tai Lin Pai Road towards Tsuen Wan. After making a left turn to Ka Hing Road, it reportedly knocked down the 51-year-old man.

    Sustaining serious head injuries, the man was sent to the Princess Margaret Hospital in unconscious state and was later certified dead at 7.17am.

    The driver was arrested for dangerous driving causing death. He is being detained pending further enquiries.

    Investigations by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, New Territories South are under way.

    Anyone who might have witnessed the accident or who has any information is urged to contact the investigating officers on 3661 1300.
