In response to the fire at Fa Yuen Street this morning (November 30), the Chief Executive has directed the Chief Secretary for Administration to lead an inter-departmental working group to co-ordinate the follow-up work including the provision of immediate relief to victims and affected families. The working group will also co-ordinate relevant actions for enhancing public safety.
The working group is chaired by the Chief Secretary for Administration, with members from the Food and Health Bureau, the Labour and Welfare Bureau, the Home Affairs Bureau, the Development Bureau, the Security Bureau, the Transport and Housing Bureau, the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department, the Home Affairs Department, the Social Welfare Department, the Fire Services Department, the Housing Department, the Buildings Department, the Hong Kong Police Force, the Information Services Department and the Hospital Authority.
The working group had its first meeting late afternoon today.
