In response to media enquiries, a spokesman for the Chief Secretary for Administration said today (August 20):
"The Chief Secretary categorically pointed out in his remarks to the media yesterday that he fully respected press freedom. During the recent visit of the state leader, the Government disseminated to the public information about the various events through open press, pool arrangement or official coverage. The Chief Secretary understands that there may be different opinions and views about these arrangements, and he respects these views."
