The North District Council's Working Group of Festival Activities will hold the "Love for Pets Summer Fun Day" on Sunday (August 21) at Sheung Shui Shek Wu Hui Playground.
The event is to promote care for animals and provide an occasion for animal lovers to gather and share their experiences of keeping pets.
Pet owners are encouraged to bring along their pets to take part in various games for free from 3pm to 7.30pm and take snapshots with their pets in front of specially designed backdrops. In addition, there will be an introduction session on guide dogs and animal therapy as well as a sharing session on how animals take care of the visually impaired and the elderly. As for prospective pet owners, they are welcome to visit the adoption counter.
The Chairman of the North District Council, Mr So Sai-chi; the Acting North District Officer, Ms Polly Chong; the North District Leisure Manger of the Leisure and Cultural Services Department, Mr Lau Yuk-ming; the Chairman of the Sha Tau Kok District Rural Committee, Mr Lee Koon-hung; the Vice-chairman of the Fanling District Rural Committee, Mr Pang Mei-chai; the Chairman of the Working Group, Mr Hau Kam-lam; and the Convener of the Task Force, Mr Wong Wang-to, will officiate at the opening ceremony at 3.30pm.
