Twenty-four EPD convictions in July

     Twenty-four convictions were recorded last month (July) for breaches of legislation enforced by the Environmental Protection Department.

     Sixteen of the convictions were under the Air Pollution Control Ordinance and eight under the Waste Disposal Ordinance.

     The heaviest fine in July was $26,000, assessed against a company that imported controlled waste without a permit.
