Police are investigating a fatal traffic accident in Yuen Long this morning (July 10) in which a 23-year-old man died.
About 4am, a medium goods vehicle (MGV) driven by the 23-year-old man was travelling along Yuen Long Highway towards Tuen Mun. When approaching near a slip road leading to Hung Tin Road, the MGV reportedly rammed into a light goods vehicle (LGV) driven by a 55-year-old man and then hit a lamppost.
The MGV driver sustained serious injuries and was rushed to Tuen Mun Hospital in unconscious state, and was certified dead at 4.51am. The LGV driver and a 49-year-old female passenger on his vehicle were also injured. They were sent to hospital in conscious state for medical treatments.
The case will be followed by Special Investigation Team of Traffic, New Territories North.
