In support of this year's "Chinese Opera Festival - A Symposium on the Cantonese Opera Legend, Leung Sing-po", the Hung Ka Po Cantonese Opera Troupe will soon perform two captivating works by Leung Sing-po to pay tribute to the legendary actor.
The troupe will first stage "White Dragon Pass" at 7.30pm on August 19 (Friday) at the Auditorium, Yuen Long Theatre, and will perform "The Life-saving Medal" at 7.30pm on September 1 (Thursday) at the Theatre, Ko Shan Theatre.
Performers include Lung Koon-tin, Tang Mi-ling, Chan Hung-chun, Lui Hung-kwong, Cheng Wing-mui and Sun Kim-long.
The performances by the Hung Ka Po Cantonese Opera Troupe are presented by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department. "White Dragon Pass" is also one of the programmes in support of the Yuen Long Arts Festival. Tickets ranging in price from $100 to $240 (Yuen Long Theatre) and $100 to $280 (Ko Shan Theatre) are now available at URBTIX outlets, on the Internet and by credit card telephone booking. Senior citizens aged 60 or above, people with disabilities, full-time students and Comprehensive Social Security Assistance (CSSA) recipients may receive a 50% discount (limited tickets for students and CSSA recipients on a first-come, first-served basis). A free-admission meet-the-artist session (conducted in Cantonese) will be held at 3.30pm on August 19 (Friday) at the VIP Lounge of Yuen Long Theatre. Seats are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
