SJ assists in transmission of letter on judicial reference concerning the Congo case

Pursuant to Article 158(3) of the Basic Law, and following its decision in the Congo case on June 8, 2011, the Court of Final Appeal (CFA) has referred questions on the interpretation of Articles 13 and 19 of the Basic Law to the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress (NPCSC). At the request of the CFA, the court's letter of referral and supporting documents were today (July 5) forwarded by the Secretary for Justice to the Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office of the State Council for transmission to the NPCSC.
