Police are investigating a fatal traffic accident in Tsuen Wan this evening (May 23) in which a 78-year-old man was killed.
About 6.55pm, a public light bus (PLB) driven by a 53-year-old man was travelling along Lai Shun Road. When making a right turn into Hoi On Road, the PLB reportedly knocked down the 78-year-old man who was crossing the road.
The old man sustained serious head and limbs injuries and was rushed to Yan Chai Hospital where he was later certified dead at 7.42pm.
The PLB driver was arrested for dangerous driving causing death and has been released on police bail pending further enquiries.
Investigations will be conducted by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, New Territories South.
