The following is issued on behalf of the Mandatory Provident Fund Schemes Authority:
The Mandatory Provident Fund Schemes Authority (MPFA) today (May 18) obtained a judgement for payment of outstanding MPF contributions of $191,963.64 against an employer at the District Court.
The defendant, Goldenwall Engineering Limited, was ordered to pay the MPFA the sum of $191,963.64, being mandatory contributions in arrears and surcharges payable to its 57 employees.
The amount awarded will be reimbursed to the employees' MPF accounts as soon as it is received by the MPFA. The District Court also ordered the defendant to pay $930 as the costs of the claim.
