No. 3 alarm fire in Causeway Bay roundup

A fire broke out at the World Trade Centre, 280 Gloucester Road, Causeway Bay, at 1.28am today (January 1). Some miscellaneous articles at a staircase landing on ground floor were first on fire. The fire was upgraded to No.3 alarm at 1.48am and was largely put out at 2.20am. A portion of the staircase was damaged in the fire.
Firemen used one jet and mobilised three breathing apparatus teams to fight the blaze. Twenty people were evacuated to a place of safety.
No casualties were reported and no suspicious circumstances were detected about the cause of the fire.
