Hongkong Post and China Post extend cross-border direct mail service to nine more major Mainland cities
************************************************************

Hongkong Post today (December 30) announced it was extending its cross-border direct mail service from Shenzhen and Dongguan to cover nine other major Mainland cities: Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Nanjing, Hangzhou, Chongqing, Chengdu, Dalian and Harbin. To reflect this development, the enhanced service has been renamed. Previously called the "Hong Kong-Guangdong Direct Mail Service", it will now be known as the "China-Hong Kong Direct Mail Service" for posting of direct mail containing advertising materials from Hong Kong to selected individuals or companies in any or all of the 11 cities on the Mainland.

The cross-border direct mail service, a collaboration between Hongkong Post and China Post, offers Hong Kong small and medium enterprises and larger enterprises a customised marketing solution for getting information about their products to Mainland customers quickly and effectively.

The service was introduced in January 2008 for Shenzhen, and extended to Dongguan in January 2009. With the changing environment such as further expansion of the Individual Visit Scheme for Mainland residents, and the development of closer economic and business ties between Hong Kong and the Mainland, demands for reaching out to Mainland consumers have emerged, especially in industries like tourism, leisure, entertainment and retail. This represents significant business opportunities for many Hong Kong enterprises.

In response, Hongkong Post has now extended the direct mail service to cover a further nine major Mainland cities. These fast-growing cities have been selected because they enjoy rapidly rising consumer affluence. Hong Kong enterprises can now use Hongkong Post's enhanced direct mail service to tap into this growing spending power, especially in areas such as tourism, leisure, entertainment and shopping.

A particularly valuable feature of the direct mail service is its "one stop" character, with Hongkong Post handling everything from selection and rental of mailing lists, to printing, delivery, and reporting. The simplicity of the service means it is ideal for encouraging repeat purchases by Mainland customers.
