Art for all at LCSD's parks (with photo)
****************************************

The Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD) will launch a new round of Arts Corners at Hong Kong Park and Victoria Park from January 1 (Saturday) and January 16 (Sunday) respectively. Members of the public are welcome to visit for free.

The Arts Corners, held in the parks for years, have been well received by the public. There are stalls exhibiting/selling a wide array of handicrafts and artworks, including pottery, paper craft work, carving work, accessories and clay work, and also arts or culture-related services ranging from photography, calligraphy and painting to silhouette cutting and sketching. These will offer park-goers a break from the hustle and bustle of city life. Visitors can also put their creativity to use by learning to make their own handicrafts and take photos of their works.

The Arts Corner at Hong Kong Park is located at the outdoor area near the Flagstaff House Museum of Teaware. A total of 10 stalls, selling handicrafts and offering arts-related services, will be in operation from 12 noon to 6pm on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays from January 1 to December 31, 2011.

For the Arts Corner at the South Pavilion Plaza of Victoria Park, there will be 36 stalls selling handicrafts and offering arts-related services. Their operating hours are from 10am to 6pm on Sundays and public holidays from January 16 to November 27, 2011.

Meanwhile, 30 stalls of the arts fun fair are also being operated at the Loggia of Kowloon Park from now until May 29, 2011, between 1pm and 7pm on Sundays and public holidays.

Park-goers are welcome to visit the arts stalls at these three parks. While enjoying the arts services and goods, they can have fun and appreciate the arts in a relaxing atmosphere.
