Appointments to Standing Committee on Disciplined Services Salaries and Conditions of Service

     The Government today (December 20) announced that the Chief Executive has re-appointed Mr Barry Cheung Chun-yuen as the Chairman of the Standing Committee on Disciplined Services Salaries and Conditions of Service (the Standing Committee) for another term of two years from January 1, 2011 to December 31, 2012.

     The Chief Executive has also re-appointed Mr Michael Lee Tze-hau, Mrs Margaret Leung Ko May-yee and Dr David Wong Yau-kar as members of the Standing Committee for a term of two years with effect from January 1, 2011. Mr Michael Lee Tze-hau and Mrs Margaret Leung Ko May-yee are also appointed as the Chairman of the General Disciplined Services Sub-Committee and Chairman of the Police Sub-Committee respectively. In addition, the Chief Executive has appointed Ms Teresa Ko Yuk-yin, Ms Caroline Mak Sui-king and Miss Melissa Wu as new members to the Standing Committee.  Their appointments will run from January 1, 2011 to December 31, 2012.

     The Government expresses gratitude to Ms Wong Mee-chun, Ms Chiang Lai-yuen and Mr Mark Lin, who will retire from the Standing Committee on December 31, 2010 for their valuable contributions to the work of the committee over the years.

     The Standing Committee advises the Government on matters relating to the salaries and conditions of service of the disciplined services. It is currently under the chairmanship of Mr Barry Cheung Chun-yuen. Other serving members of the Standing Committee are Miss Elaine Chan Wing-yi, Mr William Chan Fu-keung and Mr Horace Cheung Kwok-kwan.
