The SAR Government's Hong Kong-Taiwan Cultural Co-operation Committee (HKTCCC) and Taiwan's cultural co-operation committee held a meeting today (December 18) and agreed to jointly organise a cultural co-operation forum next year to promote Chinese creative brands.
A spokesman for the Home Affairs Bureau said that representatives attending the meeting included HKTCCC's convener, Mr Fedric Mao Chun-fai, and the convener of Taiwan's cultural co-operation committee, Ms Hsu Liling. At the meeting, both sides shared views on the strengthening of cultural exchanges between the two places and the development of creative industries.
Both sides agreed that a cultural co-operation forum would be jointly organised in the first half of next year to foster exchanges among the arts and cultural sector and creative industries in the two places, as well as to build up and promote Chinese creative brands.
Working groups will be set up to follow up on the details and preparatory work for the forum.
The HKTCCC was established in August this year under the Hong Kong-Taiwan Economic and Cultural Co-operation and Promotion Council as the Hong Kong counterpart of the cultural co-operation committee under the Taiwan-Hong Kong Economic and Cultural Co-operation Council in Taiwan. It aims to foster exchange, liaison and co-operation between the two places in the development of the arts and culture and the creative industries as well as encourage the exchange of views and information on issues of mutual concern.
