Police are investigating a suspected murder and arson case in Wong Tai Sin, in which a 53-year-old man died early this morning (December 9).
At about 4.10am, the Police received a report that smoke was found emanating from a residential unit at 84 -114 Choi Hung Road in Wong Tai Sin. Police officers and firemen sped to the scene and about 50 residents were evacuated from a building nearby.
Three men and three women, aged between 29 and 53, were injured in the fire. They were rushed to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, where the 53-year-old man was later certified dead at 10.51am. His seriously injured wife, aged 41, was later transferred to the Prince of Wales Hospital for medical treatment.
The firemen put out the fire and believed that the fire was suspicious in nature.
District Crime Squad of Wong Tai Sin is now investigating the case.
