Animal lovers will have the chance to get together and share their experiences of keeping pets at the "Love Your Pet - A Lifetime Commitment" carnival at the soccer pitch, Lai Chi Kok Park Phase I, this Saturday (December 11).
Co-organised by the Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department (AFCD) and Animal Welfare Advisory Group, the carnival aims to promote responsible pet ownership and remind people to treat animals with kindness and respect.
An array of informative and fun-filled activities will be staged, including demonstrations by the Police Dog Unit and AFCD's Quarantine Detector Dog Unit, game booths, as well as various talks on animal care and dog obedience training. There is also a special games area and a photo booth for dogs.
The carnival runs from 10am to 6pm. Admission is free. Dog owners can bring their dogs for licensing, microchipping and vaccination against rabies at the carnival. They will also each be presented with a souvenir while stocks lasts. Dogs entering the venue should be on a leash or under proper control of their owners.
