Proposed road improvement works at Ping Kong Road, Sheung Shui gazetted

     The Government published a notice in the Gazette today (November 26) on the proposed road improvement works at Ping Kong Road, Sheung Shui, to cope with the proposed housing development at Sheung Shui Area 36 West.  

     The proposed works comprise the widening of a section of the existing carriageway and sections of the existing footpaths at Ping Kong Road; construction of two run-ins/outs as well as two pedestrian crossing facilities and two lay-bys; permanent or temporary closure and conversion of sections of the existing carriageway and footpath into carriageway, footpath, run-in/out; as well as ancillary works including civil, drainage, sewerage, water and landscaping works.

     The proposed works will be commenced in mid 2011 and are expected to be completed in mid 2012.

     Anyone who wishes to object to the works or the use, or both, should write to the Permanent Secretary for Transport and Housing (Transport), 16th Floor, Murray Building, Garden Road, Hong Kong on or before January 25, 2011.

     The plan and scheme are available for public inspection during office hours at the following offices:

(1) Central and Western District Office, Public Enquiry Service Centre, Unit 5, Ground Floor, The Center, 99 Queen¡¯s Road Central, Hong Kong;

(2) North District Office, 3rd Floor, North District Government Offices, 3 Pik Fung Road, Fanling, New Territories; and

(3) District Lands Office, North, 6th floor, North District Government Offices, 3 Pik Fung Road, Fanling, New Territories.
