Appeal for information on a dead body found in Sai Kung (with photo)

     Police today (November 24) appealed to the public for information about a dead body found in Sai Kung on May 16, 2010.   

     On that day, a hiker made a report to the Police that a decomposed body with limbs fastened by iron chain was found at Long Ke Tsai Hang.  

     Post-mortem examination results suggested that the deceased was a man around 20 to 40 and was about 1.63 metres tall. It was estimated that he had died for three months to one year before his body was found. The cause of his death is yet to be ascertained.

     A small amount of Renminbi was found on the body and no identity document was recovered. From the labels of the deceased¡¯s clothing, he was believed to be a mainlander.  

     Active investigations by the Regional Crime Unit of Kowloon East are underway.
