SHA applauds Hong Kong legend Wong Kam-po

     The Secretary for Home Affairs, Mr Tsang Tak-sing, extended his warmest congratulations to Hong Kong's athletes today (November 22) on winning four medals, including a gold medal for cyclist Wong Kam-po in Men's Cycling Individual Road Race.

     "We are all very thrilled at our athletes' unfailing efforts to excel in the Games, which is the embodiment of sportsmanship," Mr Tsang said.

     "I would like to pay my particular tribute to our cyclist Wong Kam-po who has won three gold, one silver and one bronze, including the gold medal grabbed today, during his various performances at the Asian Games.  He epitomises Hong Kong people's determination and perseverance. This is legendary.  

     "In addition, the cycling team has achieved excellent results in the Games by winning gold medals in all the four major cycling events.  We are all proud of them. I would also like to extend my sincere gratitude to head coach Mr Shen Jinkang, who has made a valuable contribution to the Hong Kong cycling team," he added.

     The Hong Kong delegation has so far won 33 medals in the Games.  The list of Hong Kong athletes who won medals today is as follows.
