The Observatory apologises for an incorrect description in an earthquake press release issued on November 19

The Hong Kong Observatory recorded a magnitude 2.8 earthquake on the Richter scale at 2.42pm on Friday (November 19). A typographical error was made in the earthquake press release issued at 3.16pm that day describing it as an "intense earthquake". It was subsequently corrected to "minor earthquake" in the press releases issued at 3.59pm and 5.52pm. The Observatory apologises for any inconvenience caused by the above error.
