Police appeal for witnesses to fatal traffic accident in Kwun Tong

     Police are appealing for witnesses to a fatal traffic accident in Kwun Tong last Thursday (November 11) in which a 38-year-old man died and a 29-year-old man was injured.

     About 9.40am on November 11, a medium goods vehicle (MGV) driven by a 39-year-old man was travelling eastbound Kwun Tong Bypass. When approaching near a flour mill, the MGV reportedly hit a works vehicle stopped there and two men aged 29 and 38 who had alighted from the vehicle which was subsequently pushed forward and hit two other works vehicles in front.

     The 38-year-old man sustained severe head injury and the 29-year-old man sustained hip and back injuries. Both were rushed to United Christian Hospital where the 38-year-old man was certified dead at 10.44am the next day (November 12).

     The 39-year-old MGV driver was arrested for dangerous driving causing death and was released on bail for further investigation.

     Investigations by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, Kowloon East are continuing.
