CSSA caseload for October

     The overall Comprehensive Social Security Assistance (CSSA) caseload in October showed a decrease of 616 cases compared to September, representing a decrease of 0.2%, according to the latest CSSA caseload statistics released by the Social Welfare Department today (November 17).

     The total CSSA caseload at the end of October stood at
284,828 (see attached table), with a total of 467,809 recipients.

     Analysed by case type, unemployed cases registered a month-to-month decrease of 1.5% at 30,661, while low-earners showed a decrease of 0.4% to 14,613 cases.

     Single parent cases and ill health cases also registered a decrease of 0.8% and 0.2% respectively to 34,798 and 25,320 cases.

     Permanent disability cases registered a month-to-month increase of 0.1% to 18,358 cases.
