The Secretary for Home Affairs, Mr Tsang Tak-sing, today (November 13) cheered for Hong Kong athletes while watching the swimming events of the 16th Asian Games at Aoti Aquatics Centre in Guangzhou. He also visited volunteers from Hong Kong serving at the centre.
Mr Tsang said, "Hong Kong athletes have fully demonstrated the sportsmanship of perseverance, fair competition and determination. Our volunteers have also provided services with enthusiasm and professionalism. I feel very proud of them.
"I wish our athletes every success in the coming events and encouraged our volunteers to continue to serve with dedication so as to make the event a great success," he added.
About 300 volunteers from Hong Kong take part in the Asian Games and the Asian Para Games in Guangzhou to work in various fields such as medical and venue services.
