HAB's response on Wong Tai Sin land lot management dispute
**********************************************************

In response to media enquiries on a dispute between Lam's Clan and Sik Sik Yuen over management issues of land lot "NKIL No. 5282", a spokesman for the Home Affairs Bureau (HAB) said today (November 12) that representatives of the Secretary for Home Affairs Incorporated (SHAI) had respectively met with their representatives from June to October this year with a view to finding a solution acceptable to both sides.

The spokesman regretted that a consensus could not be reached between the two parties. He stressed that HAB would continue to discuss the issues with both sides with a view to actively seeking a solution.

The Sik Sik Yuen's suggestion to surrender the management of the concerned area was noted by SHAI. It is being studied and hopefully a new consensus on the management issues could be reached with Sik Sik Yuen as soon as possible.

The lot involved in the dispute has been owned by SHAI and managed by Sik Sik Yuen. It is understood that the fencing wall surrounding the ancestral grave was neither built by the descendants of the clan, nor a boundary marker of the grave.
