Audition applications for "Open Stage" Pilot Scheme to close next Friday
************************************************************

The six-month "Open Stage" Pilot Scheme, which is held at the piazzas of three performing arts venues of the Leisure and Cultural Services Department, will have its final performance day on December 27 (Monday/Public Holiday). Interested performers are welcome to submit their applications on or before November 19 (Friday). Performers who pass the audition may make their debut performances on Saturdays, Sundays or public holidays in December.

The pilot scheme is held at the piazzas of the Hong Kong Cultural Centre (HKCC), Sha Tin Town Hall (STTH) and Kwai Tsing Theatre (KTT). The scheme has received 70 applications since its launch, encompassing various art forms including small bands, instrumental music, percussion, dance and singing. Over 50 performances have been held at the above venues by performers who passed the audition in the past few months.

The scheme is implemented on a trial basis until December and will be reviewed before mapping out the way forward.

Aiming to promote arts and culture in the community and provide opportunities for performers to showcase their talents, the "Open Stage" Pilot Scheme also enables the public to appreciate the arts at leisure and enriches the cultural ambience of the community.

The pilot scheme is open to different forms of performing arts. Performers may be individuals or groups of not more than eight persons. Auditioned and qualified performers may register for a performance session of two hours each between 10am and 10pm on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays on a first-come, first-served basis.

Details of the scheme and application forms are available at the respective venues and can also be downloaded from their websites. Completed application forms can be sent to the venues by post or delivered in person.
