Police are investigating a traffic accident in Kwun Tong this morning (November 9) in which an 86-year-old woman was killed.
About 10.45am, a heavy goods vehicle (HGV) driven by a 34-year-old man was travelling along Shung Shun Street towards a ferry pier. When approaching No 8 Shung Shun Street, it reportedly knocked down the 86-year-old woman who was crossing the road.
Sustaining serious head injuries, the woman was certified dead at scene by ambulancemen.
The driver was arrested for dangerous driving causing death at the scene, and was released on bail pending further enquiries.
Investigations by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, Kowloon East, are underway.
