********************************************************

The following is issued on behalf of the Housing Authority:

Ballots were drawn today (July 28) for the sale of Surplus Home Ownership Scheme (HOS) flats under Phase 6 to determine applicants' order of flat selection.

The Chairman of the Housing Authority's Subsidised Housing Committee, Professor Anthony Cheung Bing-leung, officiated at the ballot drawing.

The Authority is offering in this phase some 3,200 flats for sale, comprising 1,110 unsold flats in Yau Chui Court Stage II in Yau Tong and over 2,100 scattered and returned flats in 32 courts in Hong Kong, Kowloon and the New Territories. More than 39,000 applications were received, of which over 32,000 were White Forms (WF) and nearly 7,000 were Green Forms (GF).

The Housing Department will be sending out notifications, along with the sales brochures, price lists and other relevant information, in batches according to the ballot results to invite eligible applicants to come to the office of the HOS Sales Unit in Lok Fu for flat selection.

Flat selection will begin in mid August. During the flat selection process, prospective buyers who have successfully selected a returned flat can visit the chosen flat before signing the Agreement for Sale and Purchase.  Moreover, the on-site show flats in Yau Chui Court Stage II and Kam Fung Court will be open again about one week before the commencement of flat selection (i.e. in mid August) for viewing by prospective purchasers.

The ballot results (please refer to attached file) and the priority list of the applicants will be available from tomorrow on the Housing Authority/Housing Department website. They will also be posted at the Authority's Customer Service Centre in Lok Fu, all public housing estate offices and Public Enquiry Service Centres of the Home Affairs Department for public inspection. Applicants may also call the Housing Authority sales hotline 2712 8000 for enquiries.
