The overall Comprehensive Social Security Assistance (CSSA) caseload in April showed a decrease of 728 cases over March, representing a decrease of 0.3%, according to the latest CSSA caseload statistics released by the Social Welfare Department today (May 19).
Total CSSA caseload at the end of April stood at 287,094 (see attached table), with a total of 478,814 recipients.
Analysed by case nature, both unemployment and low earning cases registered a month-to-month decrease of 1.0% to 32,225 and 15,312 cases respectively.
Single parent cases also showed a decrease of 0.3% to 35,820 cases while permanent disability cases increased by 0.2% to 18 223 cases.
