Police are investigating a fatal traffic accident in Yau Ma Tei this afternoon (May 15) in which a 4-year-old boy was killed.
About 5.48pm, a Public Light Bus (PLB) driven by a 54-year-old man was travelling along northbound Canton Road. When reaching the junction of Saigon Street, it reportedly knocked down the 4-year-old boy who was crossing the road.
Sustaining serious head injuries, the 4-year-old boy was rushed to Queen Elizabeth Hospital where he was certified dead at 6.10pm.
The 54-year-old PLB driver was arrested for dangerous driving causing death. He is being detained for enquiries.
Investigations will be taken over by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, Kowloon West.
