Information sought on fatal accident in Mong Kok
************************************************

Police are appealing for witnesses to a fatal traffic accident in Mong Kok on April 24 in which an 88-year-old woman later died.

About 12.50pm on that day, a double-decker bus (route 203E) driven by a 49-year-old woman was travelling westbound along Argyle Road and stopped at Sai Yeung Choi Street South nearby for boarding.

An 88-year-old woman got on the bus and stood at the rear compartment on the lower deck. The bus continued its journey and after about 30 metres, the driver heard a bang and found the old woman had fallen down inside the compartment.

The woman was sent to Queen Elizabeth Hospital and was discharged on the same day. Two days later, she sought treatment at Baptist Hospital, where she was certified dead at 11.45am on May 2.

Investigations by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, Kowloon West, are underway.

Anyone who saw the accident or has information to offer is urged to contact the investigating officers on 2773 5200 or 2773 5258.
