Man arrested for Kwai Shing murder

     Police arrested a 42-year-old man for killing two persons and wounding three other people on Kwai Shing East Estate today (May 8).

     At about 11.20 am, Police received several reports that a man was attacking others with a knife on Kwai Shing East Estate. Police officers arrived shortly and located three injured women at Shing Kwok House and two other injured men inside the management office that situated at the ground floor of Shing On House. A 42-year-old man was arrested outside Shing On House and he is being detained for further investigation.

     A total of five injured persons were rushed to hospitals immediately. Later a 35-year-old man, a staff of the estate's management office, and a 56-year-old female resident were certified dead at Princess Margaret Hospital. Three other injured persons, including a 32-year-old male staff of the estate's management office, a 50-year-old female security guard and a 58-year-old female resident, were under medical treatment in hospitals.

     A post-mortem will be conducted later to ascertain the cause of death of the deceased.

     Investigation is carrying out by District Crime Squad of Kwai Tsing District. Anyone who had seen the incident occurred is urged to contact Kwai Chung Police Station on 2410 2200.
