The overall Comprehensive Social Security Assistance (CSSA) caseload in March showed a decrease of 174 cases over February, representing a decrease of 0.1%, according to the latest CSSA caseload statistics released by the Social Welfare Department today (April 21).
Total CSSA caseload at the end of March stood at 287,822 (see attached table), with a total of 479,167 recipients.
Analysed by case nature, unemployment cases registered a month-to-month decrease of 0.4% to 32,560 cases.
Low-earning cases showed a decrease of 0.5% to 15,469 while single parent cases decreased by 0.3% to 35,922.
However, ill health cases registered a month-to-month increase of 0.1% to 25,184 cases.
