Hongkong Post today (April 21) announced that a special stamp sheetlet to commemorate Hongkong Post's participation in the London 2010 International Philatelic Exhibition will be released for sale together with associated philatelic products on May 8.
This special stamp sheetlet commemorates Hongkong Post's participation in the London 2010 International Philatelic Exhibition to be held at the Business Design Centre in London, United Kingdom, from May 8 to 15. Hongkong Post takes this opportunity to showcase quality Hong Kong stamps overseas. The stamp sheetlet is printed in red, white and blue - the colours of the Union Flag. The silhouettes of landmarks in Hong Kong and London symbolise harmonious ties between the two cities.
Official first day covers at $1 each will be available at all post offices from Saturday (April 24), while the stamp sheetlet and associated philatelic products will be displayed at the General Post Office, Tsim Sha Tsui Post Office, Tsuen Wan Post Office and Sha Tin Central Post Office on the same day. Advance orders for servicing self-provided covers will be accepted at all philatelic offices from April 24 to 30.
