Following is the transcript of remarks at the media session by the Acting Chief Executive, Mr Henry Tang, after visiting the injured firemen in Caritas Medical Centre today (March 8):
Acting Chief Executive: We deeply regret the tragic loss of a fireman, Mr Yeung. I have visited the family, and conveyed to them our deepest, deepest condolences. We have also visited the three injured firemen, and their conditions--I've talked to all of them--their conditions are serious, but I encouraged them to be strong and keep up their spirits. We wish them well. The bravery of the Fire Services is for all to see, and I'm sure the community will continue to support the Fire Services in doing their jobs. The Fire Services has set up a special committee to look into the cause of the fire as well as the cause of death. We hope the report will be ready as soon as possible. Thank you very much.
