Police appeal for information on serious traffic accident in Sheung Shui

     Police today (March 3) appealed for information about a serious traffic accident in Sheung Shui on February 28 in which a 39-year-old woman was injured.

     About 8am on February 28, a public light bus was travelling along Sha Tau Kok Road towards Sha Tau Kok, when reaching near an unnamed road towards Tan Chuk Hang, an ambulance behind collided with the public light bus while trying to overtake it.

     The ambulance bounced further to the right and hit the 39-year-old woman on the pavement. Some railings and a lamp pole on the pavement were also damaged.

     The woman, sustained serious head injuries, was sent to Prince of Wales Hospital while the 47-year-old ambulance driver and the two ambulance passengers were sent to North District Hospital for medical treatment.

     The ambulance driver was arrested for dangerous driving and had been released on bail pending further investigation.

     Investigations by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, New Territories North, are underway.
