Regarding a male rehabilitation ward of Tuen Mun Hospital (TMH) in which some patients had been confirmed with Noroviral infection, the hospital spokesperson announced the following update today (January 15):
One more 83-year-old patient in the ward had presented with diarrhea symptoms. Appropriate tests had been arranged and the test result was positive to Norovirus. He is being treated under isolation and in stable condition.
Admission to the ward has been suspended. Restricted visiting to and discharging from the ward are imposed. Infection control measures of the ward have already been stepped up. All other patients in the ward are under close monitoring.
The case has been reported to the Hospital Authority Head Office and the Centre for Health Protection for necessary follow up.
